Post subject:  Chump Car owner wanting driver

Just got this in:
Hi Dan, I bought an 86 Mustang a few weeks ago. I'm sort of at a loss as to what to do with it. My intent was to go ChumpCar racing with it. I'm writing to you to ask if you think there might be some in your membership who would like to buy seat time and share pit duties at the three events nearest to us, Brainerd, Heartland Park (24 hour race), and Gateway. I live in Clarion, which is dirt track country, and I doubt that there are many who would know how to turn right unless they were sitting at a stop light. I went to Sebring last September to watch a friend drive in the 14 hour race there and I was hooked. They might be driving crapcans but these guys are serious grassroots racers and I would like to be part of it. I'm 66 years old and I don't have an interest in driving anymore but I relish the idea of being a car owner. I would like to have some experienced driver in the car and I figure SCCA members would be more than capable of handling the driving duties and give me the peace of mind knowing that knowledgeable people were at the controls.

Steve Beckett can be found on our facebook site, he monitors it.

Good luck!

Racer Dan
