It sounds like a lot of people can't make it due to the last minute nature of this event. Hopefully, we'll get a decent turnout for this event, though. I'll be there!

Out of curiosity, what are the co-driver rules? Same as last time (up to four per car)?

My Intrepid is in sorry enough shape as is. I don't think I should drive it there again!

Yay!!!

I'll try to get as many of the subie club guys out there as possible.

When will the Motorsportreg.com registration be put up?

I created an event for the subie club if anyone wants to invite others https://www.facebook.com/events/391288134280210/

Here is what needs to happen
Positions filled

Chair person: Tony

Tech Inspector: Johnny C. ? if you are good with that

Course Designer: Don't know why the chair people are not also the course designer people?

SSS: John J.

We will need a MINIMUM of 25 entrants for this event, if the minimum isn't meet then it will be canceled.
Which also means that I need to see a minimum of 30 people pre-registered.

Sorry
but that's the rules for any Rally X event, as much as everybody wants the program it still needs to be supported just the same.
Like I said earlier it is a short notice and understand the next one will be a month in advance notice.

I am willing to chair the event and design the course. If anyone is interested in helping me out with course design, it would be great to have someone out there with me on Saturday to set things up. Let me know if anyone is interested.

John, are you not going to be the safety steward at this event?

I'm willing to show up and just help out. I don't think my SSS transfers to Rallycross, but if that's not the case John, let me know.

Likewise, if anyone needs a ride from Iowa City, harass me! Brogie, I swear I'll drive slower on ice this time!

Will a stock height 2002(ish) Subaru Forester be allowed to compete? If so, Dan J. and I will be driving his.

do we still have those laminated class-sheets??for tech??

2002 subaru forester looks good to me but it is "SS" decision....John?

A Forester is classified as a wagon. There shouldn't be any reason a stock Forester wouldn't pass tech as long as the other stuff checks out.

I want to stress that the current rules allow the Safety Steward of record to make the decision of whether or not a car can enter using his own judgement. The final call here is up to Mr. Jacobs.

Having said that, let me say that it is very unlikely that I would approve the 2002 Forester. According to the specs I found this car is 65.0 inches tall but the average track is only 57.9 inches. Solo rules make it illegal to run a car where the height is greater than the average track and for this car it is a LOT greater - over 7 inches! To me this looks far too likely to result in a roll-over.

The NHTSA gave the 2002 Forester a 3 out of 5 roll-over resistance rating. That's better than a Jeep Liberty, the same as an Oldsmobile Bravada, but worse than a Pontiac Aztec.

Again, it's not my call. But if it were my car I wouldn't want to risk it. (Hmmm... I wonder what National has to rent for a weekend?)

Thanks for the info. I know they're taller than your average car.

If it makes you feel better, the Forester XT is classed in D Stock despite having essentially the same weight, width, and height. Foresters still have a low SSF though.

I hope you can run!!
