WE MADE IT TO THE END :!: :!: :!:

We finished 39th out of the 136 entrants with 3 penalties and a radiator replacement.
pretty intense at times out on the track enjoyed every moment though.

A special thanks to YO and John "Brogie" for being our support for the 24 hours, they rock :!:

We had lots of laughs, I'm sure that Chip, Pat or Jeremy will be making some posts and web links.

Oh we just got back at 2am today.

Wow what a blast. It still kind of surreal that all that stuff happened this weekend.

I was SO happy to sleep in my nice WARM and DRY bed this morning!

Good job guys!! So for most of you, what did you think of your first road race? (one of you guys did a couple laps or was in a race once before correct?) Kind of intense isn't it? Even though I speak from little experience, especially the enduro part.

You really don't baby the car too much do you? Just as long as she isn't ready to keel you just put the hammer down. Quite a difference from Fast Fridays, especially when you're going 3-cars wide into a corner...

Just wait until you get some grippier tires and "racing" brakes. Then you'll love passing, or being passed, around those corners!! 8)

Can't wait to see some pics.

Well I am not sure where our bus is but I know most of the two teams from Des Moines that went to LeMons made it back last night.

Jalopnik has tons of pictures of us, we created the cardboard Shanty Town which was pretty much a landmark at this event. We won the Coolest Pit Setup Award with our matching cardboard car. Having Shanty Town and Pedobear next to each other was hilarious.

The trophy we won weighs about 70 pounds and is made out of a giant piston from a boat engine.

We ended up blowing the engine, oil everywhere and at least one cylinder was filled with oil. Engine would hardly turn over. We couldn't diagnose the problem due to our stupid choice in cars.

Pictures from Jalopnik.

They have the laptimes posted up on mylaps.com now:

http://www.mylaps.com/results/showrun.jsp?id=1339917

Free Candy's car was just a fraction of second slower than our V8, guess that shows lighter is better.

39 48 Free Candy Racing 618 23:56:07.555 115 Laps 1:33.395 604 77.092
111 470 Lamest Mess Racing 86 3:38:57.338 647 Laps 1:32.987 11 77.430

We purchased our new LeMons car this morning, can't wait to get started for MAM.

Also ChumpCar registration opened up today for the June 26th event at IA speedway.

Think of Free Candy when talking with your buddy about suite space... ;)

What do you mean, I posted both us, even though everyone called us Shanty Town our team name was Lamest Mess Racing.

I forwarded on the ChumpCar info to the group. Jeff sent out an email apparently they are doing an article on previous LeMons cars that are for sale and he was thinking of running it in that article that Murlee is writing.

Looking at the schedule, Brainerd is the only close Chumpcar event, correct?

It just showed up on the schedule today...

Various Little birdies (and verified to me by Jay at Lamest day) have mentioned MAM as a lemons track next year. We should see the Lemons Schedule this month, and MAM is apparently one of the May dates.

Yea we have been having to negotiate between ChumpCar and the Iowa Speedway because ChumpCar wasn't getting through so they gave up. Ryan emailed them and got their contact and we got Iowa Speedway interested again after we showed them our latest LeMons footage.

Very good guys,
should be a good show and I would also guess that we will see some extra teams from the Iowa area, "dirt cars" :?:
